Esterhazy and District Arts Council is pleased to put a call to all visual artists to submit entries for a Public Art Show and Sale to be held on October 22nd, 2011. This show will be held in conjunction with the Esterhazy Lions Winefest in Esterhazy. We welcome entries from other communities as well.

The deadline for entries is September 22nd, 2011. The cost to enter is $10, or $30 for late entry fees
(after Sept. 22nd ).

This is our third art show in conjunction with the Lions Winefest. Last year was a huge success and because of the response for the last two years, we expect a good attendance again this year. We made some changes last year because of the sheer volume of art that needs to be hung in a short amount of time. So again, this year we will be setting up 6' x 10' booths with the dividers for the paintings and photography. The artists will be allowed to bring in as much art as can fit nicely in that space (that is 22' total length). There is a limit of 23 artists so get your entry in early. (If you enter after Sept. 22nd, you can still fill out this entry form and submit it with the late entry fee of $30.)

We will supply the dividers and the hanging devices but you will be required to set up and take down your pictures. For artists who don't have enough art to fill a booth we will combine them with another artist.

We will have a family viewing time in the afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. for those wishing to bring children or do not wish to attend the evening event.

Anyone wishing to donate an item for the silent auction can let us know. The funds raised in the auction will be given to the St. Anthony's Hospital Fund.

It is understood that the artist will:

• pay a $10.00 entry fee. The entry fee goes up to $30 after September 22nd.

• you will be required to purchase a ticket for the evening event if you wish to attend.

• provide all work ready for display, including secure hanging and/or framing as necessary.

• complete and attach labels with your name and the title to the back of the artwork.

• if you are interested in selling your art work it will be up to you to provide contact information on the display card provided by the Arts Council (these cards will be displayed by your art work whether or not it is for sale). It will be up to the interested person to contact you directly if they have questions. It is up to you if you want to display a price on it or not. If you are not present the Art Council is willing to sell your art and collect the money for you if the purchaser does not have any questions.

• bring the artworks to the Esterhazy SN Boreen Community Center (800 - 4th Ave) October 21st between 6:00 p.m.and 7:00 p.m. or make other arrangements with a friend or family member to deliver and hang or display it.

• take work home or arrange for pick-up of your art work after the show on October 22nd.

• arrange to have your artwork insured against theft or damage if you so desire as the Arts Council does not provide insurance.

 

It is understood that the arts council will:

• organize and advertize the exhibition.

• will be present throughout the entire exhibition.

• take every safeguard to ensure the safety of the artwork.

Exhibition Fee - Agreement to Waive

According to copyright law, artists are entitled to an exhibition fee whenever their work appears for public display. Your signature on this form indicates that you are aware of this fact and are willing to waive your fee.
